7 Steps to Peachy Honey Butter

In the deserts of Gilbert, Arizona four young boys I nanny picked peaches in an orchard. The following day their mom and I made peach butter from the gathered sweetness.

For one afternoon I was a pioneer woman in the west canning old fashion peach butter. Canning peach butter is a long process that reminds us how grateful we should be for foods we take for granted. The peachy process should be experienced by all!

If you have an afternoon I recommend peach canning to bond with another:
1) mother daughter bonding
2) friend bonding ( friend date)

The following explains the peachy pioneer butter:
First: boil water, then with a ladle put the peaches in the water and keep them in there for about 3 minutes

Second: transfer peaches into ice cube water

Third: skin should peel, take it off and remove the pit. Measure the peaches to know how much honey to add.

Fourth: depending on how many peaches you add honey ( a substitute for sugar)

Fifth: mash and mix batch. Put mix on stove for 2 hours stirring often.

Sixth: have a funnel to pour peachy mix in mason jar

Seventh: seal jars by placing them in boiling water

There were an abundance of peaches so we also made homemade peach bread!
