A 3 mile walk in China

He must be very strong! I am guessing this man’s job is recycling. What does it look like to you?

Yesterday in Tianjin, China after a rainfall the city was beautiful. You could see blue open skies. I didn’t think it was possible. I thought the city was always going to be smoggy foggy. The weather was so nice my husband, Denny, insisted we walk to work instead of taking the subway. We had to go to work to get our residence permit at the police station. While walking we saw a lot of interesting things. The above picture was taken because I admire this man’s strength and it’s plainly just a cool sight to behold.

A small restaurant called Super Hero Chicken! That’s the owner,David, with Denny.

Denny and I saw a restaurant window that looked like they had blended fruit smoothies. We learned from this Chinese man, David, (picture above) that the fruit was fake and made from syrups. He knew English and owned the restaurant next to the fake smoothie shop. We talked with him awhile and decided to buy something at his place. We wanted to get the fried cauliflower but again sometimes communication errors happen in China. We ended up being bless with fried mushrooms on the house. I love FREE stuff, I felt so loved. It is a really cool experience meeting these friendly people in China. (The only Chinese person that wasn’t the friendliest was the phlebotomist at the Travel Health Center who poked me so hard that days later I still have a bruise. Maybe she was having a bad day.)

Look at the cool tree behind me!

Well readers hopefully Denny and I will get internet in our apartment soon! It’s another beautiful day in Tianjin and I am hungry. The street food is beckoning me.

Readers: Have you ever been blessed with food from a foreigner or stranger? I would love to hear your story.
