It seems most of my interesting stories revolve around food because that is where I come into communication with the Chinese people.

The street vendor we go to for some of our fruit in Tianjin. For one banana it’s 1 UN. Is that fair?
So the story of today revolves around this man here. We have been generally buying bananas from him and on this day Denny bought some grapes from him. He later handed us two apples.
When he gave us two mini apples….
He said 白痴, shay-gula…or Shuǐguǒ ( something to that effect, I’m not exactly sure). We thought he was teaching us how to say apple. A few hours later we talked to our co-workers and told them we learned how to say apple. They told us the man called us “idiot”. Well that’s interesting because in this circumstance the guy was smiling and handing us a FREE apple. Hmmm….? Yesterday, we told a Chinese person this story and they said the vendor was teaching us how to say “fruit”. What do you think?
Traveling have you ever had this kind of situation?
Since I am on the story of apples (the picture below) shows Denny and I looking to replace the front and back cover of our iPhone in a huge wear-house store that has knock off electronics. We went here to buy our router. The wear-house had tiers of floors. Within each floor their were multiple stations selling the same electronics. At this place we were able to haggle but not as much as the Pearl Market in Beijing.
