Why KingKing’s is a Splurge

Do you miss the smell of home?

I love China, please don’t misunderstand me when I say the following, but the fact remains that this American girl’s nose can witness three or more smells within a minute while walking a street in China: the smell of delicious Chinese BBQ, to poopy trash, to something unrecognizable. Our bathroom isn’t even safe from the sewer’s traces.

On any given day I step outside my 21st floor sky riser into the hallway and am greeted with unfamiliar smells. I open the door to what is the hope of fresh air until I pass the daily cumulated trash on the sidewalk for our skyscraper. I daily follow a dirt unkept carved trail that hugs the new Chinese Temple for the nuns and am surprised with new trashy smells. My nose needs a break and wants her home to be a safe haven.

Sweet Smells in China

I made a splurge at a local scent store called KingKing, the Chinese version of Yankee Candle. (Click here if you want to learn how KingKing is doing in business). My nose is relieved and is a happier sniffer. The purchases at KingKing were wisely selected and thus have brought much happiness to our home.

Not every comfort can be met but there is also nothing wrong with splurging on yourself.

Have you recently splurged on yourself? If so, what did you buy and why?

If you haven’t splurge on yourself in awhile I recommended you ponder what a modest splurge might be for you and head to that store quickly now.

(Note: If you are a foreigner in China I recommend KingKing for your scensty purposes.)
