One of my favorite smiles thus far!

Where is the hope in this dark world?

I recently just read On Every Side which I highly recommend any woman to read. [Click here if you want to learn the plot.] This letter are words from a mother on her death bed dying of cancer to her young son.

“…the world will want you to blame our loving God. …it’s not His fault death and disease reign here in the shadows. He’s not the cause of bad things. In reality, He’s the only way out…the only life rope, the only path from the darkness to eternal light. The only way home.”

On Every Side, by Karen Kingsbury page 325

“Has anyone ever written a letter to you that changed your life?”

In this world there is death, poverty, pain and sorrow. I don’t know which season you are in, maybe:

  • great, everything is perfect
  • depression, feeling there in no hope
  • financial problems looming and controlling your thoughts
  • food, television and/or shopping are a comfort and distraction
  • happiness in witnessing two becoming one in a marriage
  • single, dating, married, divorced
  • loosing a close love one or friend
  • celebration of a new birth
  • recovering from being a sexually abused victim
  • struggling with porn
  • suicidal thoughts
  • professional success
  • loneliness, feeling all alone in this world
  • happiness being connected in a community and feeling loved
  • fatigue, in dire need of a vacation
  • rested, healthy and feel invigorated

PAIN IS THE SOIL WHERE THE DEEPEST KIND OF FAITH IN GOD GROWS.

BY SARAH SUMNER

Yes, there is a lot of heartache in this world but I believe there is a savior who promises eternal life in another home. I don’t know where you stand on your beliefs but if you’re not a believer I thank you for being here and listening to what I have to say. I personally have to hold on to the hope there is more to life than this broken world. When I remember this is not my home that hope makes me smile.

If you are a believer

or

not a believer

where is your hope when you are in a dark place?

I would love to hear your beliefs.

What truths do you remind yourself?

My favorite (senyuman) smiles in this batch on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
