There are some crazy  stories in China. In recent news thousands of pigs were found in the Shanghai river. The infected pigs were believed to be dropped in the Northern part of  China and carried downstream. (NY Daily News and BBC’s news concerning this news.) Yes, this oinky situation is quite interesting but my news today dishes why the lamb prices have risen in China.sheep

Crazy Lamb News

There is another reason on why lamb prices have risen in China besides rat meat being disguised as lamb. While I was chitchatting with a girl from the gym, Mia, she shocked me with some of her hometown news.

In the green countrysides of China there are elderly women who tend lambs for food. Younger men rode by on motorcycles while these women were innocently tending their flock. They tied a woman to a tree and stole her lambs! A lamb is worth 2000 RMB (about $300) and because it’s untraceable thieves are selling them and making a quick profit. Lamb meat in gerneral is more expensive than pork or chicken but because of these occurrences fewer people are wanting to raise lambs. This story sounds crazy, it amazes me what people will do for greed. This is Baa..lonie.

What are some crazy stories from your hometown?
