“1 in 5 relationships from match.com get married,” is what the Best Man reported in his speech. Mike and Holly started dating in October of 2011. Within two weeks Mike knew he wanted to marry Holly. Holly knew Mike was her other half around Thanksgiving. They have shared passions; they both work with children. Mike is a special education teacher and Holly is a second grade teacher. Together they are making an impact on our future generations.
Mike and Holly both have the love for an adventurous active lifestyle. They went to a bull riding competition. —Brave souls. They also frequently kayak, bike and golf together. Their Best Man said, “they can’t get enough time together…they are truly best friends.”
Holly carefully planned out many of the details for her wedding. Her hanger was crafted to spell her new last name and her bouquet accentuated her beautiful dress. The fuzzy green leaves called Lamb Ears (Stachys Byzantina) were the perfect touch to bring out the white roses!
It was a fairytale venue with the white roses leading to the altar where they were going to make their forever vows as husband and wife.
The fathers of the bride and groom spent time together watching their grown children and time in solitude thinking of the magnitude their children were entering into before the ceremony.
This bridal party knew how to celebrate.
The moment below of Mike and Holly remind me of characters like a prince and princess. The arch they are under is part of a castle! Awesome imagination right? No, it’s actually the entrance to the country club. It might not actually be a physical castle but the day definitely felt like the beginning to a fairytale.
The sun is catching Holly perfect in this in between moment while going to another location.
For Mike and Holly’s reception they decorated the centerpieces with pictures from their youth.
During the reception they showed a slideshow of side-by-side pictures of each year they have been on this earth.
Mike and Holly’s first dance as husband and wife. This moment reminds me of a scene from a Disney movie, when Belle from Beauty and the Beast was dancing in the grand ballroom because of the chandelier above them. Scratch the beast part in this picture.
During the speeches the Best Man was very funny; he had the bride and groom rolling in their seats with laughter.
The father of the bride gave a heart warming speech that made almost every woman cry in that ballroom.
In the beginning of the dance portion of the night friends and family gathered around them to hit off the celebrations.
It was precious gift to witness the married couples who are lovingly committed to one another years later dance the night away.
I will end on a fun moment, the couple’s first dessert together as husband and wife. I pray they will remember the sweet vows they made that day.
