Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Wedding: Patrick + Sonia

The day after valentines day, Patrick and Sonia tied the knot. February 15, 2014.

People spend most of their days at work: this couple met at the hospital they work at together. Whoever said helping others wasn’t a romantic atmosphere they were seriously deceived. While the bride regaled me with this story, a bridal party member joked, “You aren’t supposed to date your co-worker!” A smile quickly spread across the bride’s face. The groom a local history professor told me he made the romantic gesture and got down on his knee and proposed in their home the night before going to a friend’s wedding. Four years later of dating they are venturing into life together as husband and wife.

The bride got ready at the Sheraton Crescent Hotel. Her “brides-man”, male best friend joyfully watched her get ready for her big day.

Patrick and Sonia had a traditional Catholic wedding at Our Lady of the Valley located on 35th Ave. and Greenway.

The bridal party and couples pictures took place at Sahuaro Ranch Park. I hadn’t been there since I was a little girl. There were lots of wild life roaming the grounds that added a splash of life to the pictures.

A local florist, Arrowhead Flowers, made this boutonniere for the groomsmen and these flower arrangements for the bridesmaids.

The brides bouquet looks gorgeous against this farm door.

The newlyweds celebrated their union back at the Sheraton Crescent with their friends and family.
