I have known Jordan and Ali for 5+ years. I have seen their walk with God and couldn’t be happier that God intertwined these two’s love stories to further His Kingdom. They both have a heart for missions and serving others; I am stoked to see what God will do with them as a husband and wife team.
When I heard the news that Jordan was proposing to Ali I was absolutely thrilled. I kept it under-wraps but was tickled with the event soon-to-be. My husband Denny got to hear me gushing about the proposal for a month. Jordan proposed to Ali at Redemption Tempe Church’s ice-cream social in front of their parents and their church family.
Jordan’s Thoughts On The Proposal:
“I knew I wanted to incorporate the gospel and me proposing. But I still wanted to keep it fun ad light. Which is why I wanted to do an ice-cream social and have it at church. The reason I wanted to do that is because the gospel is so family oriented and I thought it would be easy to transition into talking about asking Ali to become my family.”
Ali’s Retelling Of Being Proposed To:
“Our church, Redemption Tempe, has also played a huge role in our story. As we’ve dated, so many friends, mentors, and pastors have come alongside us. It’s truly an incredible blessing to be invested in by our church. Because our church body is so significant in our lives, it meant to much to me that Jordan did a surprise proposal at our church!”
“I knew that he would propose sometime soon, but when he got on one knee in front of our friends, family, and church, I was so surprised! Jordan planned an ice cream social at our church and even picked out ice cream flavors which corresponded with the gospel. After the 5pm church service, everyone hung around after, got ice-cream, and waited outside. Jordan had a microphone and began explaining how the ice-cream was meant to reflect the gospel. At the end, he transitioned to talk about family… including his church family… and asked me to be a part of his family by receiving his hand in marriage! I was so surprised and overjoyed as I realized what was happening. The only thing I can imagine that’s better than Jordan asking me to marry him is Jordan asking me to marry him in front of all the people I, we, know and love! I got so many hugs that day, definitely one of the most joyful and encouraging days of my life!”
A friend standing by got the proposal on video.
A picture with a thousand words. She said “yes” and his reaction after putting the ring on her finger.
The newly proposed couple were able to step away for a few minutes for some intimate photos.
I am excited for their wedding in January 2015. This fun couple will have an incredible celebration.
This proposal was the perfect illustration of Redemption Tempe Church’s mission: “ALL of LIFE- is- ALL for JESUS.”
