ASU Secret Garden Bohemian Wedding

In a hidden outdoor Arizona wedding venue there were tea cups clinking to a celebratorial marriage, Anthropologie candles sending sweet aromas into the air and delicious paleo desserts being enjoyed. This incredible wedding inspiration was designed by Michelle who was inspired by some Australian wedding blogs and her love for tea.

In the peak of Arizona’s summer a talented group of Phoenix creatives came together and designed an Australian Bohemian tea wedding in ASU’s Secret Garden.

“The wedding venue, Arizona State University Secret Garden, was selected because it evokes a simple, romantic garden emotion. Surrounded by one of the oldest buildings on the college campus, it also radiates rich history and meaning. I wanted all of those feelings to come through in the photos.” (Michelle)

The tea theme inspired the wedding colors for this Arizona ASU wedding… rich green and berry red. The bridesmaid bouquets had an assortment of Dianthus, Roses, Protea, Astilbe, Dahlia, Filler Flowers and Eucalyptus.

I was smittened with Daniel’s European hair and beard, it was fashionable and bohemian at the same time.

Andrea from Garden Gate Flowers did a fabulous job with the wedding flowers for this Bohemian Arizona wedding. The bride’s bouquet had a combination of Dahlia, Garden Rose, Assorted Roses, Astilbe, Protea, Queen Ann’s Lace, Viburnum Berries and assorted Eucalyptus foliage. The handle was wrapped with a sheer gold ribbon.

This ASU Secret Garden wedding is the perfect inspiration for avid tea drinkers and people who appreciate history and nature. If you’re planning an Arizona summer wedding in an outdoor wedding venue I would highly recommend renting portable misters.

The Secret Garden provides a historical timeless building to frame the natural attributes of the ASU’s Secret Garden. Our Phoenix wedding designer, Michelle and her team purposefully set the sweetheart table with “mismatching vintage china and layers of primitive dreamy linens along with fine silverware.” The table was designed with Tea Crockery’s“…hand-embroidered napkins … on crocheted doilies, needlework runners, and lace tablecloths which evoke a very romantic feel and complement the china from the same age and time.”
The table’s garland had an assortment of Roses, Nigella Pods, Tweedia, Dianthus and assorted foliage.

“Custom Napkin rings with intricate detail and gold calligraphy are a fun way to personalize each place setting and can be used as place cards. Each setting was adorned with a gold paper leaf to tie in our boho chic vibe and add a pop of sparkle.” (Shiki)

Vintage Chic Rental had this vintage “Amelia”brown trunk that added a historical and adventurous element to the wedding.

Look at this gluten-free Bohemian styled wedding cake designed by Bear and Honey and topped with a lime.

Bear and Honey, a local Phoenix gluten-free and Paleo bakery, prepared Paleo AZ State shaped decorated sugar cookies, Paleo Strawberry Shortbread Cookies, and Paleo Hand-Painted Floral Tea Bag Sugar Cookies.

Bear and Honey explains why she loves serving in Phoenix area with healthier dessert options:

The bridesmaids wore an assortment of bohemian jewelry.

A wedding couple could take this wedding to the next level with a few other ideas: they could rent a white tent for shade, gift guest tea bags for favors, and have a beverage bar with tea infused with fruit.

One of the nicest attributes of the ASU’s Secret Garden is the long building length white brick fireplace, it makes for excellent photos and a nice backdrop.
