Almonds are the New Milk
As I carefully cleaned up some toys on the ground I quizzed a 3 year old girl on some facts, “Where does milk come from?” She replies with a matter of factly, “Almonds”. Her response blew me away. My grandparents, my parents and I grew up on milk. The famous quote, “If you want to build strong bones you drink milk” was preached to me at a young age. Our American food has changed and with it has brought new food allergies.
Almond milk and I go back to freshman year of college when I discovered I was lactose intolerant…we are now inseparable. Almonds….are INCREDIBLE and I can talk about them for a long time on how they changed my life. Not only is almond milk delicious but it’s also really healthy.
To treat myself while I blog I weekly go to Hazelrock Cafe & Sweets in Tempe and enjoy their famous homemade almond milk latte. My body is nourished and my spirits are joyful. To share my love for almonds read below the health benefits and on how to make your own batch of homemade almond milk.
