Are you planning your wedding and concerned about rain or chilly weather? If so, Arizona is the perfect region to consider planning your dream wedding. To fill us in with some Arizona attractions I asked a long time resident and Arizona wedding planner, Michelle, to share her wisdom on why Arizona is a wonderful wedding destination.
4 Reasons to choose Arizona for your Wedding Destination
On average there are 299 days of Sunshine in Phoenix and only 34 days of rain. Wedding season runs from October through May here in the desert and all summer long up in the northern region. Couples have several options to choose from in regards to time of year and location. Phoenix is picture perfect for such a celebration and below are some reasons you should bring the celebration here!
1. Scottsdale/Phoenix Resorts –
the Scottsdale/Phoenix area is filled with luxurious resorts and accommodations for couples and their guests. Many of the resorts are extremely family oriented making it easy for couples to ensure those with little ones have a great time. Some of my personal favorites: Fairmont Scottsdale Princess located in North Scottsdale, Four Season Scottsdale, The Wigwam Resort on the west side of the valley and The Arizona Grand Resort are sure to satisfy your guests. Each resort offers magnificent views, fabulous restaurants, family activities, pools and fantastic spas.
2. Old Town Scottsdale –
is filled with several unique shops, dining experiences and entertainment all year long. Some favorites to hit The Rusty Spur – it’s the oldest saloon in Scottsdale, Scottsdale Museum of the West is where the old west meets the new west with magnificent displays and exhibits, Hula’s Scottsdale Restaurant has amazing food, my favorite the Steak Sandwich.
3. Sedona –
is a must do day trip for visitors – a quick and easy drive to the beautiful red rock country or host your entire wedding weekend up there. There are great hiking trails filled with gorgeous scenery, fantastic shops and places to dine. If you have the opportunity check out the Sedona Airport for breakfast, they have amazing French toast! Feeling a little more adventurous take advantage of jeep tours, hot air balloon rides and much more, end the weekend with a Wine Tour and send you and your guests home completely satisfied.
4. Spring Training –
Calling all baseball lovers and fans. Spring time here in the valley is filled with spring training practices and games, all in which you and your guests can partake in while visiting. Just to name a few the Chicago Cubs (my fav), Giants, Cincinnati Reds and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Catch a full game or practice, always a good time for the family.
