Their parents knew each other and she was friends with his sister growing up in their church. One evening Kelsey went to her friend’s theatrical play. Their first impressions… Kelsey didn’t know him but Michael recognized her. That evening the two met each other officially.
Michael’s family at the time was living in Brazil for mission work. His friend further helped with them connecting by planning a hiking trip. Thereafter, Michael and Kelsey texted. When Michael returned from Brazil he gifted Kelsey a pair of parrot earrings.
Michael and Kelsey’s first date was over some delicious ice cream sundaes after church in October 2012. After their first date and through texting Kelsey decided to not go out-of-state for an university but to transfer to Arizona State University. For a long time their relationship flourished after church on Sundays and on holidays.
Michael and Kelsey are getting married in January 2016 at Trinity Christian Church and will celebrate their marriage at the Taco Guild in Phoenix.
The two share thankful, thoughtful and loving spirits that is immediately felt when you spend the afternoon with them. I have no doubt their wedding will be anything short of amazing! Their engagement session started at the modern Mesa Performance Arts Center on a sunny Arizona afternoon.
Kelsey knows how to make the simplest creation beautiful!
Michael is one of the most laid back gentleman and his kindness is shown through how much he enjoys Kelsey’s joyful personality.
Kelsey loves Michael’s forgiving heart; he is always the first person to look past wrongs.
Speaking of flowers, let’s have a moment for this beauty. After spending the afternoon with these two I am now determined to want to wear more black and white for photos…so classic.
The two share a common interest in longboarding. Kelsey bought Michael his first longboard for his 22nd birthday. Together they love taking “scary trips down big hills with friends”, “late night rides in the middle of a monsoon” or “just rides around (their) neighborhood”.
Because the two spent most of their time getting to know one-another on Sundays after church, Michael and Kelsey enjoy having quality time together.
Before heading to other parts of downtown Mesa, they needed one quick cool off in the Mesa Performance Arts Center fountain.
We walked to Milano Music to end their engagement session…the trendy murals made for some pretty backgrounds.
After their first “real” anniversary in January, the two will share many adventures together as husband and wife.
Kelsey, you’re stunning…. really.
Afterwards we walked across the street to Tre Bella’s Cinderella mural and to where fairytales are captured. Michael loves Kelsey’s passion for life and funny personality.
Michael also loves Kelsey’s heart for serving; whatever activity Kelsey is involved in she gives it her everything to make it special and meaningful.
I will end with this photo… two souls preparing to commit to loving one-another.
