Getting married is a moment you wait for your whole life. Usually dreaming about the man you’re marrying, about the dress you’ll be wearing, and of course who will be that one special lady to stand beside you and care for you as you stand before your future husband.

However, choosing your maid-of-honor can be difficult.

There may be a multiple people. There may be personality traits to consider. There may even be no one who automatically comes to mind.

Here are a few simple questions to help you clarify who your Maid-of-Honor should be.

How to Choose Your Maid-of-Honor

1) Who knows the real you?

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Who has supported you through the years?
  • Who have you done life with?
  • Do they know your struggles and strengths?
  • Do you see them being in your life years to come?

2) Consider the Maid-of-Honor’s role.

There are plenty of tasks that are a part of the Maid-of-Honor’s role. These tasks are not for the faint of heart, but for a loving and caring one. Some prompt tasks might include:

  • Organizing the bachelorette party
  • Planning the bridal party
  • Delivering personal toasts

It is important to have someone with a cheerful personality and a good sense of humor. In times of stress, having that humorous personality will be a refreshment for everyone.

3) Are you between two friends?

Simple. Choose them both and title them as a Maid-of-honor and Matron-of-Honor. Delegate the duties between the both of them.

By answering and considering these three points, you will start to notice your options dwindling down until that perfect Maid-of-Honor is standing right before you!
