Todd and Lydia met on Lydia’s move in day for her freshman year of college at Concordia University St. Paul. Todd was a sophomore peer advisor for Lydia’s class. When Todd started to gain interest in her, he asked if they could go swing dancing together. Days after dancing he decided it was time to show her how to lift weights. About a month into school Todd and Lydia started their new dating journey!
While being at Concordia, Todd and Lydia were both in the Christus Choir. The choir tour was about to start. So naturally before they left for the tour, they went out on a date together. Todd took Lydia to the Como Conservatory and they strolled around. Beautiful flowers were laid by each step she took. They were surrounded by a sunken garden sided with a pond and statues that stood perfectly in their place. Todd grabbed Lydia’s hand to whisk her into a side room where no one was around. When the time was right, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. What made it so special was that there was no one else around to witness just him and her as Lydia weeped with joy. It was the most beautiful and romantic place that Lydia could have ever imagined.
On June 4, 2016, they made their union official at the Christ Church Lutheran. They are not the first to get married here. As this church was where Lydia’s parents met and also got married. As it came time to think about the theme and style of their wedding, they envisioned it to be whimsical and romantic with splashes of bright and light throughout to really embrace the summer weather.
Thank you to Todd and Lydia to experience your big day with you! There were so many memories made. From your amazing bridal party in 115 degree weather, to witnessing your father marrying you, and especially your family and friends who traveled far to see your vows exchanged, every moment was truly yours!
