At Little Leaders Academy, we recently embarked on a magical journey as our little learners put on a spellbinding performance of “Where the Wild Things Are”! 🎭🐾 Their energy, creativity, and passion brought the enchanting world of Max and the Wild Things to life right here in our own nature-inspired microschool. 🌳🏠
Would you like to bring a touch of this magic to your own home or classroom? Today, we’re excited to share a step-by-step guide on how to create Wild Things masks and costumes using simple brown paper grocery bags. 🌈💫
Materials You’ll Need:
🌿 Brown paper grocery bags
🌿 Scissors
🌿 Markers or crayons
🌿 Glue or tape
🌿 Elastic or string for securing the masks
Step 1: Prepare the Grocery Bags
Carefully cut open the brown paper grocery bags and lay them flat on a table. Smooth out any wrinkles to create a blank canvas for your Wild Things masks.
Step 2: Design Your Wild Thing
Let your imagination run wild as you design your Wild Thing’s face! Use markers or crayons to draw the eyes, nose, mouth, and any other features you’d like your Wild Thing to have. Don’t forget to add some wild and quirky details to make them unique!
Step 3: Cut and Shape the Masks
Once you’ve completed the design, carefully cut out the Wild Thing’s face along the edges you’ve drawn. Be sure to include holes for the eyes so your little actors can see clearly during their performance. You can also cut out additional elements like ears or horns to add more dimension to the masks.
Step 4: Secure the Masks
Attach elastic or string to the sides of the masks to secure them comfortably around the children’s heads. Make sure the masks fit snugly but not too tight.
Step 5: Embrace the Magic of Play!
