As friends early on, Kolton and Amanda learned a little bit about each other before ever thinking anything more. They worked together on a group project while they were both attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College in a public speaking class. Since they were both in the same graduating class that year, Amanda had the opportunity to hear Kolton be the student commencement speaker along with all the other graduating students. She has such a sweet heart of affirmation that she had to tell him what an awesome job he did. So she sent him a text of encouragement and his response led to Kolton inviting Amanda to his graduation party.
Her gift of affirmation and his gift of optimism were the perfect blend to keep these two friends in conversation for hours. That conversation was the start to their happily ever after.
The Great Gatsby was in theaters during that time, so they made it their first date and continued to see each other and go to the 20’s themed Homecoming Dance. It was only fitting their first date and first dance together were both enjoyed by the similar 20’s styled theme. Once they were engaged, they knew they had to fit in a Great Gatsby engagement party. And those same 1920 details were added into their wedding day this past weekend.
Their wedding day was filled with elegant accents that superseded time and brought enjoyment for everyone to have.

Thank you Kolton and Amanda. You both have tender hearts. It was beautiful to see joyful tears being shed, understanding the beauty and significance of this day of becoming husband and wife. It was truly a joy to witness. I love how your ceremony reflected and pointed your marriage towards God. Your sweet bridal party was so helpful in celebrating your day. You two not only prepared for your wedding day, but for marriage, especially by how you celebrated and encouraged one another.
Their wedding setting took place at Venue at the Grove. Nestled near the Superstition Mountains in a “Southern Bell” oasis nearby the Phoenix metro area. The grounds of this venue are so peaceful and full of nature’s beauty.
The couple chose the airy and endearing color palette of lilac and yellow! They incorporated lavender since the couple both share a unique appreciation for it. Kolton’s childhood memories consists of visiting his aunt and uncle on their lavender farm in Oregon and simply put, it’s Amanda’s favorite color.

Their abundance within marriage will be fulfilled by the overflowing abundance given from their Creator.
Their fun and sassy reception included Great Gatsby elements since they saw that on their first date. The details were in the decorations and songs. From the sunflowers, lavender roses, and eucalyptus to the mercury glass bowls, table numbers, and lavender napkins.
Clever and tasteful guest favors were sitting at the tables waiting for the guests’ arrival.
Ruze Cake House made their cake very personal and a delicious one. Second tier is chocolate caramel because they are chocolate lovers, and the top tier is lemon lavender. They fell in love with Ruze’s cactus bride and groom cake topper so they had to have it! A creative yet elegant twist on an Arizona trademark!
Now it was time for their first dance and for them to enjoy themselves for the rest of the night!
