Congratulations, you’re getting married! Most brides want their dream day to be perfect. The right venue, the perfect dress, the decorations, the flowers, the everything! Weddings can add up quickly in costs, but there are some fabulous ways to keep costs minimal and to create some original pieces for your wedding and reception. Doing some DIY projects for your wedding day can be fun and exciting. You can tailor them to the exact size and colour of your choosing for a lovely and cohesive look.
Wedding Wood Decorations to Incorporate
Let the Planning Begin!
Planning the pieces of your wedding doesn’t have to be strenuous. Feel free to delegate some work or hire a wedding planner to keep everything on track and to catch all the small details. Many brides love the idea of a rustic-looking wedding. The incorporation of wood elements, baby’s breath flowers, linens, and perhaps a few western touches can create a fantastic environment in which to have your ceremony. Rustic decorations are plentiful and relatively easy to make.
Wood Work Wonders
Woodwork items are not only beautiful; you can create them! For DIY wedding décor projects, all you need is the cost of the materials which usually involves however much wood or how many pallets you need, paint or wood stain, and then decorative touches such as photos, flowers, etc. Use caution when cutting, sawing, or hammering that you or your help don’t injure or cut yourselves. Utilizing safe woodworking practices will yield some amazing creations for your special day without any Band-Aids.
DIY Centerpieces
One of the simplest wedding decorations to make is the centrepieces for your tables or altar. Mason jars are low-priced, and you can buy it in bulk. Candles or flowers can be used in the jars depending on your preference, and you can tie the rims with string, twine, or other rustic touches for a beautiful setting.
Another great centrepiece you can make is a planter box centerpieces. All you need are some pieces of wood cut to whatever size you would like the boxes to be. The larger the boxes, the more dramatic the scene will be. You can plant roses, small trees, leafy plants, or other varieties of flowers for a special touch for each table setting. The boxes can have a number painted on them, or attached with tags, so guests know what table number each one is. Burlap or lace can be added to the boxes for special touch too.
DIY Rustic Glam Signs
Another rustic décor that you can quickly achieve is to make wooden entry, welcome, or schedule signs. You can make signs for just about anywhere. Cute wooden signs with “bride” and “groom” can be made and hung on the backs of the couple’s chairs for the reception. Try painting a lovely stencilled “welcome” on some boards or pallets, put out front for your guests as they arrive. Some use pallets to paint the schedule on such as “4:00 pm Ceremony,” and “5:00 Reception,” and so on. Purchasing these custom signs is very expensive and making your own is much more affordable, and you can decide what font you want for your signs.
Vows to Remember
Another beautiful DIY rustic item you can make is an arch, canopy, or alternative altar in which to say your vows. You can create large doors or a doorway for a unique “altar” which you can adorn with flowers or candles. A small pergola or canopy can be set up with only a few pieces of wood and decorated with lights or flowers for a special place to get married under or in front. These touching backdrops set a focal point for you and your spouse and your guests. It can be as ornate or as simple as you want it.
Saying “I Do” is the moment of a lifetime. Your day will be beautiful no matter what. Creating your DIY décor will let you enjoy the planning and the creating process, and it can also help your budget. Asking your bridesmaids or family members for help in your creations is recommended, and many would love to help with in to contribute to the upcoming nuptials of a beautiful couple.Guest Author: Sarah Jones
