“Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”
Be Cheetah Fast
That statement is a rather interesting remark since I am endeavoring to capture 10,000 pictures of people smiling. Now going into the fourth month of this project I have noticed that some of my pictures don’t turn out that best. Some are blurry. It’s a difficult task to ask a stranger if you can take their picture or to smile. Sometimes you are fortunate enough if they give you a blink-of-a-moment smile, but in those instances you better hope you’re cheetah fast and have the right setting on manual mode or they will turn out blurry.
Grace in Photography
I have noticed that there is grace in photographing smiles because thankfully smiles make a picture scream success.
- For that one moment that person forced a smile their mood was unconsciously boosted.
- They find a foreigner taking a picture of them funny. My awkwardness brings happiness; I’ll take it.
- The individual finds that they are recognized in this mega universe by a complete stranger and feel loved in that moment.
Whether the picture is blurry or not, if the smile is genuine, they are beautiful!
Voters what makes a smile beautiful?
I want to hear from you. Why did you vote for that smile?
