The #1 Killer Overcoming a Struggle is Not Believing
Have you ever asked these questions: Will I ever change? Will my struggle with _____ (pride, laziness, greed, envy, anger, judging, idolizing, materialism, obesity, addictions (porn, television, masturbation, drugs, alcohol) lessen or ever go away?
The Fear of Being Wrong
Have you ever been wrong and someone caught your mistake? Well I have and sometimes in those moments I think that was a silly mistake. “What was I thinking?” I also I hate being wrong. In those moments I know the right thing to do is to apologize and tell the other person they were right. Admitting I made a mistake is a struggle, but in those moments I pray and ask God to humble me. It’s hard but thankfully it’s not on my own strength. Afterwards, I feel relieved I didn’t buy the lie that I can’t make mistakes but can humbly tell someone I am not perfect and do mess up.
The Impossible is Possible
The answers to these questions seem daunting and impossible. As impossible as the thought of a straw going through a pole. Wait a minute, a straw can go through a pole. Does that mean struggles that seem impossible can be renewed?
“The potential for transforming our weaknesses lies not in us but in God’s unlimited power.”
Like the weak straw, it’s in our weakness that God shows up. When we trust in His strength He can make the impossible possible. Hand your straws over to Him. God has the power and we have the potential to be transformed, become a new creation.
What kind of straws (struggles) has God put in poles for you in your life?
If you don’t believe in God, how do you handle areas in your life that you struggle with?
Smile, you don’t have to do this life on your own.
