You can park on the street. It’s located in a sketchy area of town that’s being revitalized but don’t let that stop you. Near the shop there’s a lot of beautiful street murals and in the neighborhood some authentic Mexican restaurants. This shop has good customer service and an industrial atmosphere with cement flooring. Denny and I spent over an hour here because we befriended two new entrepreneurs venturing into male fashion. I am so thankful there are watering holes for artistic people.2013-09-10_0100

 2. G & B Coffee

The cafe is located in the historical Grand Central Market in downtown Los Angeles. Look for a big warehouse and then you will find the shop. Park in the garage that connects to the Market and make sure to get your ticket stamp and validated. Those are two steps. In the Grand Central Market there is also international food restaurants and a fresh produce farmer’s market. You can hit two birdies at once coffee and grocery shop.

The unique attribute of this shop is that they are frequently rotating roasters. Them featuring new coffees allows you the consumer to get to sample new coffees.

 3. Demitasse

The cafe is located in Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo. Park in the garage next door. This includes a free valet once you get your card validated after visiting the shop. This coffee shop out of the five coffee shops visited was the least impressive because one of the barista’s attitude.

 4. LaMill

There is free parking on the side of the street or in the shop’s private lot.  This coffee boutique had a nice vibe. The place was decorated with Renaissance art and French chandelier lights. The food looked and smelled amazing but pricey $$.

They are known for self-roasting and having Clover brewing machines.

They also have a star treky machine called a Alpha Dominche Steampunk. According to Denny this means “they mean business and are taking their coffee seriously”. Denny recommends the Kenya.

 5. Intelligensia

You can find parking on the street. This shop screams Hipster central, everyone is dressed so trendy. There’s nothing wrong with that but it’s a fact. There are two neighboring food cafes with terrific food and an incredible flower shop next door. Incredible doesn’t do the flowers in the shop justice. I saw for my first time in person a Dr. Seuss flower and other flowers I had never seen before.

Cheers to my fellow coffee lovers!

If you have been to L.A. do you recommend any other Third Wave Origin Coffee Shop? Which picture makes you want to visit that shop and why?
