Strings to My Heart

A single hoop attached to a metal chain suspends from the ceiling of a stage. The life of one trust that their feet holding the hoop can keep them alive while the hoop circles the air two stories high. Their fragile life is held by physics, skill and strength. The orchestra on stage adds to the adrenaline of the crowd. The audience is thrilled to see dangerous exhilarating live moves. One false move from the acrobat keeps the audience on the edge.

This picture paints a date and celebration of two years of marriage; my husband took me to the Phoenix Symphony that included acrobats adding to the performance. The event was titled “Cirque de la Symphonie”. There were ariel fliers, acrobats, jugglers, a mine and strong men.

My husband and I were expecting the CIRQUE DU SOLEIL coming to the Phoenix area but what we saw was still a good performance. It was my first symphony performance and the entire time I was thinking this is an educational experience. It’s an event worth attending at least once. The symphony is not a normal hangout for my husband and I so the crowd attending was a different culture than we were used to.

Tickets were bought from Travel Zoo half off! All in all, interesting educational experience.

Readers: Have you ever been to an event that has a different culture than you were used to? If so where? What did you learn or what were your thoughts?
