Thursday Nannying:

The kids had been hyping this place up and would go-on-and-on about how exciting this place was and that they could play games while getting a hair cut. They splattered out random pieces of detail and today I was able to sort the information out.
While nannying today we went to a kids’ hair salon called “Snip it”. I had never been to a specialized kids’s salon. The atmospehere was kid friendly, lots of bright objects and oversized plastic characters. While the kids were getting their hair cut they were able to play a game on a tv in front of them.

Afterwards, the kids would get a prize. Drum roll please………a one inch plastic green alien attached to a plastic parachute and a flavored sucker. Remember the simple things enthrall kids.

Now I’m a cheapy. As a current non-mother with no mother experience, I think I personally would just save money and cut my boys hair. If I didn’t take that route there are other scenarios I’m conjurgating in my mind:
1) Lets say I spend money. So while my child is sitting at Great Clips I could give them a game boy to play with in their lap and afterwards reward them for good behavior with a cupcake or some play dough ( a toy hopefully they would use more often than for a few hours. Ideally, I’m trying to create a minimalist home.)
2) Maybe I would just have my child sit in a chair having to be patient.  What did parents do for kids 50 or 100 years ago while getting a haircut? What do you do with your kids? Please leave your response in the comment box below.

There’s nothing wrong with Snip It, I’m just thinking I am going to go a cheaper route.
