Wait did I just walk into a flashmob or black and white film? China is a nation that loves to dance on the streets any day of the week.
While on one of our excursions Denny and I walked by a group of more than fifty women sandwiched among skyscrapers on a open tile plaza dancing to traditional Chinese music to a charming dance. You can click on this link to watch the Tianjin women dancing. [I will warn you I am not a professional videographer =)]

Aren’t those women captivating? They look like some of the most carefree women I have ever seen in quite sometime.
On another occasion we stepped onto a dance land-mine near our apartment. (The blurry picture above is the only picture I got that night.) The park was crowded with scattered dance stations: (my best idea of the versions) the waltz, salsa, swing and many others. All entertainment was free. Gentlemen there is no reason why your wife can’t be romanced in China. =) I coaxed my husband into dancing at one of the nearby stations, a style similar to the waltz, for the heck of it. Once we hit the awesome stone dance floor all the attention was drawn on us, the “Mei-Guo’s” were dancing. “Look they can dance,” is what I imagine they might have been thinking when we glided rustily over the old stones. We actually got an applause when we exited the fairytale stage.
My husband is such a sweetheart. I felt a mix between a fish dancing in a bowl with all the Chinese people gawking and my heart being wooed by my best friend. Call it fishy love??? JK. It was a blast. Who knew the Chinese were such big dancers?
