Lanes of bowling balls and pins were the stage for these two people to start falling in love. They met at a young adults group with Gateway Redemption Church. Peety’s first impression was that Eric was dorky with his mustache. It was Peety that liked him for awhile before Eric caught on. Eric thought of Peety as “Olivia’s sister”. Eric didn’t realize his feelings for her until one night there was a hang out and he thought, “Oh, I wish Peety was here.” It was with that thought he made the connection. A week later Eric took Peety out for a date at The Coffee Shop in Gilbert. From that point their friendship and love progressed.
Peety’s younger 8 year old brother would ask Eric all the important questions, “Why aren’t you married yet?”, “When are you proposing?”. Her brother told Eric how simple it was to propose: to find a ring, she would say, “Oh, what a nice ring”, and then they would be married. His version of a proposal inspired Eric on how he was going to propose.
Eric had his roommates hide the diamond ring in a box under a pile of dirt. While Eric had his friends keeping a safe eye on the ring he asked Peety to accompany him on a stroll. When they got closer to the treasure Peety told Eric thy should leave because she didn’t want to ruin another person’s proposal. Little did she know, seconds later Eric got on his knee and asked Peety if she would be his wife: helper, lover and friend for life.
