When I first met the bride, Kathryn, and asked her what was her favorite detail about her wedding she said that it was going to be a Hollywood tea cup themed wedding, and it was exactly that. Kathryn, her mother-in-law- and some other closed loved ones made their wedding celebration with lots of DIY’s and thoughtful details. The moment a guests entered their wedding venue, Gerber Gardens, they were encountered with fresh flower arrangements, blue open Arizona skies, towering desert pine trees and intimate gardens. Throughout the reception area Trevor and Kathryn’s adventures and bridal pictures were framed and accentuated with classical books, vintage tokens and tea cups. You can see more of their love story in detail here.
Thank you Trevor and Kathryn for inviting me to witness your wedding day celebration and giving me the opportunity of capturing an LDS wedding from the start to the finish. I learned a lot about your faith and was honored to be there for your special day!
Their Hollywood themed wedding began in the mid morning on May 9, 2015. Trevor and Kathryn in all white made their commitments to one another in the Mesa LDS temple. This couple knew how to celebrate!!!!
The florist Colleen picked a gorgeous color palette for Kathryn’s flower arrangements. Kathryn wore glamorous earrings from Charming Charlie.
The moment I saw their black-and-white checkered dance floor I thought I jumped through the rabbit hole into Alice and Wonderland. There were beautiful vintage tea cups decorated everywhere. I love the suspended tea cups on fishing line under the center arch. Check out those tall pine trees; Gerber Gardens is a wedding venue in Mesa, Arizona.
Kathryn collected these vintage tea cups from yard sales and antique stores. Every tea cup has a story just like Trevor and Kathryn have a unique love story.
If you look at the details there are traces of Disney movies. The big tea cup from Beauty and the Beast and a bird from Snow White. Having Disney elements, from the “Happiest Place on Earth”, definitely brings a magical element to a wedding day.
Kathryn created these Hollywood DIY gold glittered tea cups.
To frame the Hollywood guests they had a caricature draw people while they sat on the couch.
Their gorgeous cake brought the Hollywood tea cup wedding theme together. I love how the crumbled graham crackers look like gold from afar.
They also had a dessert bar with many delicious treats: chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies and vanilla and chocolate cake. Not only did they have vintage tea cups but they also had vintage tea cup plates.
We took their romance photos at the Mesa LDS Temple before the reception. Kathryn looks enchanting in Brilliant Bridal’s wedding gown.
Their reception had many happy tears and smiles. Their first dances were gorgeous under Gerber Gardens’ stringed lights. The father-daughter dance below was a moment of joyful tears and a precious sight.
The youngest bachelor caught the garter and had an incredible expression during and after the moment.
Trevor and Kathryn’s wedding guests had a lot of fun dance movements on the floor.
I will leave you on one of the most epic grand exits ever. This is how a wedding couple ends the night!
Congrats Trevor and Kathryn for becoming one!
