Musical Instrument Museum Wedding Inspiration Featured on Wedding Chicks

Where the desert meets glam on a wedding day, Hytched Weddings & Events designed a fabulous natural elegant wedding at the Musical Instrument Museum in Northern Scottsdale, Arizona.

It is with great joy to announce that this Desert Romance Wedding Inspiration was featured on a national blog today: Wedding Chicks. My creative and team and I would personally like to thank Michelle from Wedding Chicks for this opportunity!

Natasha from Hytched Weddings & Events shares her inspiration behind the wedding shoot at the Musical Instrument Museum: “This shoot was heavily influenced by the Arizona Desert and Arizona Sunset.  When the sun goes down in the Sonoran Desert, a thousand hues of yellow, orange, and pink fill the sky.  It is one of my favorite parts of living in the Valley.  How amazing would it be, I thought, if we could capture this in a styled shoot to showcase a wedding inspired by this natural beauty.”

Shane and Coley, a sweet solid couple and friends from CRU (Arizona State University Campus Crusade for Christ) modeled for this Desert Romance Wedding. Shane wore a “…sleek grey suit with a skinny black tie” from Celebrity Tux and TailsColey modeled a breath taking gown from Bella Lily Bridal.  “The bride’s dress featured a plunging neckline with champagne gold sequins, open sides, a flowy blush chiffon, and a gorgeous silk bow that literally ties it all together.”

Shane and Coley are ministry focused, their marriage reflects the Gospel. An afternoon spent with them was such a huge blessing. “The wedding venue, the Musical Instrument Museum, was selected because of how unobtrusive the building is to the desert.  It is a modern building that almost becomes part of desert; it fits in seamlessly.  The MIM’s chameleon-like facade paired with its timeless beauty made it the perfect backdrop for this shoot.”

The Musical Instrument Museum has cultural rooms that allow for a wedding couple to feel like they had a destination wedding. Hugs are the best.

This scene reminds me of the classical love story of Beauty and the Beast when Belle and the Beast share a romantic evening dancing in the castle’s grand ballroom. The world map etched on the floor of the Musical Instrument Museum depicts a beautiful picture for a wedding couple and how they chose to commit themselves to that one individual in the world for the rest of their lives. Musical Instrument Museum Wedding | Scottsdale Wedding Photographer | April Maura Photography_0062.jpgFairytales come to life on a wedding day! Coley walks hand-in-hand with her Prince Charming. ” (Coley’s) hair was a chic, yet messy low bun. Her hair was twisted back from each side and styled into a beautiful, effortless low bun.  It is a timeless style that would suit any bride.”

“The purpose of this (wedding inspiration) is to inspire couples of all ages to plan a wedding true to their geographic location.  This particular theme is perfect for couples in the Southwest.  Many times, the desert is viewed as a desolate place, or a place with no life.  Quite the contrary, this shoot proves that the desert is an inspiring place with many colors, textures, and moods.  I hope this shoot helps couples draw inspiration from the natural beauty they are surrounded by on a daily basis.  It is always tempting to bring in draping and uplighting, to ‘pull out all the stops’.  But when you have a beautiful canvas to begin with, you don’t necessarily need all the extra sass….These reception tables were purposefully set with one long black and white striped table runner, clear chargers with gold beads on the perimeter, coral napkins, personalized cactus pads, intricate gold flatware, and coupe glasses at each place setting.”

“Desert plants were heavily emphasized.  We had a variety of cacti and succulents potted in different vases and containers.  The pots were gold, coral, white, and orange.  The flowers were in gold vases and mimicked the yellow, orange, and pink colors of the Arizona sunset…. There were coral napkins and cactus pads at each place setting, personalized with calligraphy painted names.”
