This couple’s proposal story is right out of a romance movie… full of complete thoughtfulness and love. It happened during Faviola’s first time visiting Ireland. Faviola had an idea that Ronan might pop the question while she was visiting so she packed a dress for everyday of the week. While she was visiting Ronan wanted her to see all his family. Every time Ronan brought her to a nice picturesque place she thought he was going to propose.
On Faviola’s visit they flew to Austria; she noticed that Ronan had packed a backpack and so her thoughts trailed to this specific trip being the moment. It was their last night in Vienna where the two shared a nice dinner and visited a live orchestra concert. It was that evening that Faviola thought he wasn’t going to propose while she was in Ireland.
Their adventure continued with traveling the touristing areas of Europe and visiting Ronan’s family. While they were on their travels at a Irish Bed & Breakfast they were to visit the Cliffs of Moher. The following day when they were seeing the sites of Cliffs of Moher Faviola dressed in pants and tennis shoes because the weather was chilly and rainy.
It was during their walk overseeing the Cliffs of Moher that Ronan asked Faviola, “Have I told you why I love you?” It was in that moment that Ronan lowered himself to his knee and Faviola started to sob with joys of tears. Faviola was wowed by Ronan’s grand gesture; she stop thinking in that moment because she wasn’t expecting it. When Ronan asked if Faviola would marry him she said, “YES”!
Following the couple’s proposal they visited more of Ronan’s family and Faviola shared that during the celebration Ronan’s family asked the Irish tradition, “Give it a spin.” In the Irish culture during an engagement it is common for people to ask to spin the engagement ring twice, hold it over their heart and make a wish. That day Faviola was welcomed into Ronan’s family!
A fun couple to hang out with, Ronan and Faviola’s love for one-another was an incredible experience to witness on their wedding day, January 2, 2016. Down the street from where this couple originally met, Ronan and Faviola exchanged vows in Arizona State University (ASU) Newman Center. Later that evening the couple with their two cultures, Irish and Mexican, celebrated their love well into the evening at Tempe Center for the Arts.
