Although the more traditional and classic styles are still very much sought after, we are definitely seeing more non-traditional and unique engagement ring styles trending this year.

1. Colorful Diamonds and Gems

Due to the rising popularity amongst celebs, we are seeing a surge in brides-to-be opting for more stylish and personalized engagement rings – and what better way to stand out in a crowd than to don a vivacious and colorful diamond in pink or aqua or a highly desirable gemstone like sapphire for all to see and admire. The great thing about colorful diamonds and gems is that they generally go for less than the traditional white diamond. If you don’t want to spend a fortune on the carat size you would have wanted with a white diamond, buying a colored diamond engagement ring is an affordable and stylish alternative.

2. Delicate Silhouettes

At the opposite end of the spectrum, we are seeing a trend in women seeking a more refined and elegant style for their rings, by choosing the sleeker and more discrete appeal that comes from having a thin band. To play up the small appearance of the band, the more popular choice of brides is to have some accent diamonds accentuating the entire length of the band – this enhances the center stone, and gives a shimmery effect to the overall appearance of the ring.

This growing trend of mixing metals is perfect for those brides who can’t decide between platinum, yellow or rose gold. In the past, mixing metals was typically only seen in vintage inspired rings, but it’s caught fire with the mainstream buyer, and is it any wonder?
