Mutual friends decided they wanted to hike the Flatiron trail of the Superstition Mountains. Hiking up the uneven shaky red clay gravel, they finally arrived to the peak of a gorgeous landscape view overlooking the Phoenix Valley. Becca and Michael had yet to formally meet and were introduced at the beginning of their day. After making it to the top, they eventually took the trail back down. Towards the end of their day adventure together, their stomachs were in dyer need of some food. They chose to go for some pizza and relax after a well-deserved day out on the trails. Becca and Michael had more time to talk and gather some first impression data on each other. They were both impressed with the others’ character and common interests, so they pursued to see each other again. And that one time turned into another and another. They began dating and on Christmas day of 2015, their life would make a turn for the best.
It was the ideal picturesque Christmas snowy day at Becca’s parents’ house. Both Becca and Michael traveled to her home to be with her family for the holidays. Before this trip, Michael started to think well in-advanced that maybe Christmas could be the best time to surprise her with something he already purchased awhile back. She is super close to her family, he thought. He considered it might be meaningful for everyone to be around when he surprises her. So there they are, on Christmas day opening all their gifts. There is one gift from Michael to Becca that was left to open last. The excitement of newly opened gifts and the joy of being around the people they loved most was so full. She reached toward the box and realized there was a smaller box inside the bigger box. In mysterious captivation she relentlessly opened that small box realizing there was another box inside that one! She had no idea what was going on, and didn’t really even notice anything else around her besides what was happening in that one instance. She looked down at the small box asking herself, “is this real?” She opened that last and smallest box, to be left staring at the wedding ring of her dreams from the man of her dreams.
Her head rose back up catching the eyes of her beloved and asked him gently, “what is this?” He encouraged her response with “What do you think?” Her ring slipped its way onto her finger when Michael asked the life-changing words, “Will you marry me?” This was his invitation to begin a new life together with him and she accepted it with the simple yet powerful word; Yes!
Just under a year later, their journey continues on and is really now just beginning. Michael and Becca said their “I do’s” this past weekend in a garden wedding full of perfection. From the colors of teal, white, and crisp Autumn orange, to the enclosed walls covered in green luscious vines of The Wright House, this romantic wedding had a beautifully simplistic feel. It was breathtaking.
How neat is was to see many loved ones traveled from Colorado to be a part of this special day. There are precious moments shared between them and their parents because of it. Thank you to Michael and Becca!

They took the reception into the intimate garden space. Floating candles in three tall vases with orange orchids in the vases were used as centerpieces. They used a round mirror to put the vases and candles on and each table number was creatively labeled with all the locations Michael and Becca have hiked as they both have a love for the trails.
