Brendan and Katherine have a sweet story to tell. After 8 months of dating and getting to know each other, it was obvious for Brendan to make his next step. Brendan talked with Katherine’s sister about organizing a “sister” day. On September 16th, 2016, Katherine and her sister arrived at the Riparian Preserve in Gilbert. There was a photographer there to supposedly take photos of the sisters together when Katherine started to notice there were letters pinned to separate trees. She first saw a K, and then an A, and a T….and well you get the idea. It spelled it out to be Katherine which led her to a gorgeous tree where she would soon find her prince charming. Brendan surprised her with a proposal they both will never forget.
They are beginning their wedding plans for this Spring at the Mission del Sol Presbyterian Church. As making plans is oh so important, Brendan and Katherine wanted to make sure they captured this season of engagement. On a Arizonian overcast day, they spent some quality time together at the Lost Dutchman State Park.
The two often hike at the Lost Dutchman State Park so they found it appropriate to document their engagement here.
Between his waving hair and her shawl + dress, they have such a classic look together.
A truly modern scene straight from When Calls the Heart from Hallmark.
We asked each person to share what you love the most about your partner and these are their precious responses:
Katherine: His strength and kindness. No matter what Brendan is always there to be strong and selfless for me. And his loving nature pushes me to act in love.
Brendan: Her strength and determination. She is always making sure she gives 100% in everything she does, whether it is planning this wedding, practicing piano, or even working on her relationships with friends or me. It shows love I have never seen before.
Loving the pops of bright cranberry reds, emeralds, plums, and blues in her dress and shawl.
Where love is shown and demonstrated for the other there is so much power.
The finest silver diamond ring fit perfectly for the future bride Katherine.
A quality about the two love birds is that they love being playful together. Brendan teases and Katherine reacts, or vice versa. It is so fun to see a couple know the reality of life being hard but also know the importance of having fun together.
The dynamic view of the Superstition Mountains at Lost Dutchman State Park has Katherine and Brendans’s love being larger than life.
There’s nothing sweeter than a picnic in the desert laid over this one-of-a-kind handcrafted blanket from Mexico.
There is tender comfort in the arms of someone you know without a shadow of a doubt loves you and wants to keep you warm and safe.
The couple shares a Lo Lo’s- chicken and waffles meal together reminiscing over one of their first dates at Lo Lo’s.
Katherine and Brendan are looking forward to celebrating the holy covenant of marriage in the eyes of the Lord and their brothers and sisters in Christ. They understand the weightiness of this step and wish the sacredness of their marriage to be evident. But, with that serious element comes a whole lot of joy for the two of them. The sweet couple couldn’t be more excited to have fun and celebrate that with everyone there.
