Arizona State University Engagement: Austin + Samantha

They met in 2009 their sophomore year at ASU (Arizona State University). They had a common friend, Mary who suggested they meet because they are both short. 🙂 Mary invited them both out one evening and because Samantha thought Austin was shy she was interested in his roommate at that time. Austin believed he was flirting with her that evening but didn’t feel the vibes reciprocated. Samantha’s interest in his roommate quickly faded and Austin and her started to date. The two enjoyed their first date dining at Pancheros and seeing a double feature of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 at Tempe Marketplace. The two have been inseparable for 6 years.

Austin and Samantha are ASU alumni and are still active Sun Devil football fans! The two cherished their time spent on the ASU’s Tempe campus so much that they wanted to record how their love story began there.

Thank you Austin and Samantha for inviting me to document where your love began and for a wonderful afternoon of fun on a place we both hold dear to our hearts…ASU.

 

Samantha retells the romantic gesture of how Austin proposed:

Austin proposed on May 2nd at The Montage resort in Laguna Beach. Earlier in the week, Austin’s mom texted me along with Austin and his siblings, inviting us to a surprise cocktail party for Austin’s aunt. This event turned out to be completely fake! Austin and I showed up “early” and decided to walk around the resort. Austin had been to the resort before so he wanted to show me a beautiful area. When we sat down at a bench with an amazing ocean view at the end of the resort grounds, we chatted for a while about nothing in particular. Austin then told me that he loved me and that I was his best friend. It was sweet but not unusual so our conversation continued. After he said it TWO MORE TIMES, he finally stood up and got on one knee and asked me to marry him. I cried hysterically and said “what?!” over and over before finally saying yes. He surprised me again by revealing that both of our families and closest friends were there to celebrate with us. Shortly after, Austin was then surprised by his twin brother who had planned a much larger surprise engagement party back at their house!!

Austin and Samantha laid the foundation for their relationship with a solid friendship. The two put the fun in engagement. We strolled Arizona State University (ASU)’s  gorgeous Tempe campus.

Austin brought his contagious fun spirit to their engagement session. He makes everything fun, no matter what the two of them are doing.

Samantha is great at brightening Austin’s day with her smile.

Samantha is a passionate person and it shines through when she is dancing.

Austin’s sweet demeanor and sense of humor light up Samantha’s face. Their silly banter keeps them entertained; I literally had the opportunity to watch their love unfold.

There is love steaming at the Arizona State University Tempe campus!

Congratulations Austin and Samantha! I pray that your wedding will unfold how you envisioned it at the Strawberry Farms in Orange County, California.
